Brighten Your Smile with Smile Brilliant

Hey there, y’all! TGIF! We made it to the (almost) weekend. I hope you have a fun weekend ahead of you.

Are you a coffee drinker? Maybe Diet Coke or DrPepper is your drink of choice? I’ll be the first to say that I always reach for hot cup of java in the morning and sometimes a Diet Coke in the afternoon. Because of this, my smile has become a little dull.

That’s why I’ve teamed up with Smile Brilliant to share amazing at home whitening kit.

In the past, at home whitening has only been available after making a trip to the dentist and spending out 500+ for a full kit, plus whitening trays. I don’t know about you, but that is way over my price range.

Smile Brilliant saw a need for an at home, wall-friendly whitening kit.

They’ve created an affordable and easy kit that takes the fuss out of teeth whitening. Who wouldn’t want to brighten their smile while watching their favorite television show?

Upon receiving my kit, I quickly upon it to find simple instructions, whitening and desensitizing syringes, paste (for making the molds), and trays to place the paste in.

First step, follows the step by step guide to make my molds.dsc_0442

In your kit, you will find two types of paste. One is blue, one is white. Simply mixed these paste 1 blue paste and 1 white paste, and then add it to on the blue plastic trays. Place in mouth and press up. Make sure that you are pressing firmly, making sure that the paste touches your gum line. Repeat this step for the other tray.

Next, rinse the trays and let them set up. This takes about 30 minutes.  Fill out the info card included in your kit and place them in the prepaid envelope provided.

Now, you wait! The professionals at Smile Brilliant work diligently and quickly to get you trays within a few days. Of course, you will receive emails regarding tracking.

Within a few days you will have your new whitening trays. Now, it’s time to whitening.

Before you whitening, make sure your teeth and clean and dry. This will help the effectiveness of the whitening gel.

Open a (green) whitening syringe and place a ribbon of gel along the center on the tray. A little goes a long way. Place into mouth and wipe excess gel off of gums. Repeat for other tray.

When you first began to whitening, I recommend starting with 30-45 minutes. After you have been whitening for some time you can bump up the allotted time to up to 3 hours. If you have any sensitivity to teeth whitening, I would start slow. While I did have some sensitivity, mine didn’t ever become painful.

I will say, my gums did get a little tender. The professionals at Smile Brilliant recommend that I applied a thin layer of Vaseline on my gum line before whitening—it acted as a “wall” between the get and my gums. This dramatically helped!

Also, another great product from Smile Brilliant is there desensitizing gel. This helps straighten enamel, prevent further staining, helps combat sensitivity. You use this before your whitening. Less sensitive, more results!

Whiten according to your schedule. The more you whiten, the faster and more noticeable your results will be. As a mom, I found that nap time was the best time to whiten. Also, while getting ready in the morning. Now, my smile is brighter and I’m excited to show it off.

The professionals at Smile Brilliant were very helpful and always available to answer any questions I had.

I’m very happy with my results!

Confident in Florals

DSC_1156DSC_1162DSC_1164DSC_1170

Hey y’all! Happy weekend! I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead of you. We’re still rompin’ around the lake.

I’m sharing a fun, floral dress that I stumbled upon while on our travels. Found at Grass Stains in Graham, Tx this feminine dress is easy, breezy, and super versatile. I instantly feel in love with the soft colors and print. I paired it with the Dolce Vita fringe peep-toe booties from Target. I mean, how about this fringe?! For fall, I will be adding tight and boots, a leather jacket and floppy hat, a cardigan and scarf—the list continues!

Check out this fabulous store here. Seriously, Dawn (the owner) has carries on-trend, yet classic pieces that have just enough flair to make you feel “that” way. Ladies, you know what I’m talking about. Not to mention, her price point is wallet-friendly.

Another point I wanted to highlight is difficult for me to share. If you know me personally, you know I’m very insecure about my spider veins.

Ever since the 6th grade, I have had spider veins. I vividly remember when I noticed the first one. I’ve had countless encounters when people ask, “How did you get that awful bruise?” and “Oh, what happened to your leg?” As honest and sincere as they may have been, this only added to my insecurity.

Spider veins are hereditary and can worsen if the conditions are right. For me, they have worsen over the years. Like I have mentioned before, I want to be real—100%, so that included my spider veins. They aren’t pretty, and I know that, but they are me.

I have plans to visit a doctor in October to talk about the risk associated with my veins. Yes, I am self conscious about them, but more importantly I want to be healthy. If there is a risk, I want it fixed.

Do you have an insecurity that you’re working through? Is it something that you have dealt with for years?

Have a great one, y’all! Be you, be true, and never doubt your beauty!

A Few of My Favorites Things

A Few of My Favorite Things

Hey there! I hope y’all are doing well. Did you have a great weekend? I hope so. We hung by the pool and grilled out—our favorite pastime. We had a bout of cool weather yesterday, and it was fabulous. Oh my, come one Fall!

Today’s post is about a few of my favorite essentials. I’ve always enjoyed reading other post like this, so I thought I would give it a whirl. Please let me know you think!

Watermelon Love

Have you ever hunted for a particular item? Let’s say the perfect LBD or a certain top with the “it” factor? Well, I’ve been hunting for a watermelon clutch. I finally stumbled upon one the other day on major sale (yay!) I can’t wait to carry it. Perfect for Labor Day, right? I scooped this up from Dillard’s at only, wait for it, $17! Yes, I totally did a happy dance.

Unfortunately, this clutch is sold out. Here is a similar one from Macy’s.

Kendra Scott Does It Again

I’ve been a Kendra Scott fan since she launched. I mean, haven’t we all? Watching her line change and grow has been very neat. The Talia earrings in Lapis are total show-stoppers. I love the horizontal stones and color. Given to me by my mom, I will be wearing these with everything from a white tee to a dress.

Lip Fancy

Lip gloss, lip gloss, oh how I love you. Seriously, I could buy it all. I purchased the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color back in June and I’m still hooked. It’s smooth, velvety texture is long-lasting and bold. Yes please!

Work It Out

I would love to attend a gym, but that’s easier said than done. With two little ones, working out at the gym is a lot harder than it used to be. Since I work out at home, I’m always looking for a new, accessible workout. Christine Salus is a fabulous You Tube trainer that will kick your bootie. She has a video for every type of workout and intensity. I typically like to do HITT workouts (because they are quick, yet highly effective) and she has several to choose from. Check her out!

Skip the Shampoo

I’m a product lover and I know it. Ha! I love to try new things and experiment. Typically, I buy a trial size versus a full size of a product, if available. Have you ever bought a new product, thought that you would love it, but ended up being dissatisfied with the results? Yes, me too. Hence, the Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Dry Shampoo in trial size. Boy, am I in love! This dry shampoo has a heavenly scent and truly soaks up oil, while leaving your hair feel soft.

What’s your favorite product? Is there something out there that I need to try? Let me know. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Orange Crush + Darleen Meier Jewelry

DSC_0991DSC_1010DSC_0988 (1)DSC_0994 (1)

Hey there! TGIF! I hope you guys have a fun weekend ahead of you.

Today, I wanted to highlight this beautiful orange maxi by BCBG + stunning earrings from Darleen Meier Jewelry.

This dress is bold and a little out of my comfort zone. While I love maxis, I typically don’t wear something as fitted. Plus, the keyhole is also something I’ve never worn. But hey, fashion is about taking risks and trying new things. Right?

Funny thing, as I wrote this post, I kept second guessing myself. I wondered if I looked too “curvy”. I thought, “Maybe I shouldn’t use these pictures,” and “This is probably a little too tight around my hips,” but I had to put a pause on the self-doubt. Why? Because that’s one of the reasons I am doing this. Why I wanted to start my blog. I want embrace who I am in all ways, even if it makes me uncomfortable. Curves and all!

On another note, let’s talk the earrings by Darleen Meier. Her jewelry is unique, fresh, and bold. I fell in love with these earrings instantly! The playful round hoop features a leave patten and is adorn with a vibrant beveled green stone.

Darlene is known for her wire wrapping and stone work. Check out her website–I guarantee you will find something you love. If you enter “INFLUENCER30” at checkout, you will receive 30% off of your order.

** While this dress is a little on the pricey side, BCBG is having a great sale. You can take an extra 40% off at checkout.

I hope y’all have a lovely weekend!

Self-love in the making

Hey everyone! Today’s post is a little different. I’ve been craving to be more real—more open with you guys. Self-love is something that I’m becoming obsessed with. Why? Because I’ve never really “gotten” it. I crave more self-love.

In the past, I thought that I had found true happiness. But, you know what? I was wrong. I was putting my happiness into, wait for it, my weight. In college, I got down to size 0. I had a busy social life and a fun retail job—everything was perfect, so I thought.

After struggling with my weight for so long, I’ve realized that I need to let go. Really, really let go. I’m sick of being negative towards myself. I crave a positive, healthly mindset.

Which brings me to today’s post. This is me after two kids in a two-piece. I haven’t worn a two-piece in years. You can imagine my nerves as we took these pictures. I want to push myself outside of my comfort zone—I want to be straight up, 100% real. So, this is me being real.

Self-love is a beautiful thing. Have I mastered it? No. I may have scratched the surface, but I have a long way to go. I have discovered some fabulous tips on achieving self-love from a very talented woman named Ruby Fremon. If you’re working on this too, this tips will defiantly help you out!

Forgive Yourself
Do you also speak down to yourself? Frustrated and annoyed with your fitness level? I fee ya. I’m still learning how to forgive and let go. Carrying around burdens, hold-ups, and insecurities will do nothing but disintegrate your confidence and self-worth.

Goodness All Around
Surround yourself with good things. Whether that’s in your pantry, the people you associate with, or the music you listen it must be a positive influence.

Take Care
I’m so guilty of these. I really am. I will push off working out because of, well, anything. I’ve become stuck. Now, I’m realizing how beneficial “me” time can be. Not only for me, but my family too.

Are you working towards more self-love? If you are, I’m pushing with you. Each day can bring improvements and breakthroughs–we just need to keep pushing. Letting go of the negativity will allow positivity to grow. Use #myrealbeauty to join me on this transformation.

For now, I’ll leave you with this powerful quote.

“Instead of being you toughest critic, be your own best friend.” Ruby Fremon
